What Is 360 EXIF Fixer?
360 EXIF Fixer is a free, browser-based tool that writes Google Photo Sphere (GPano) metadata into a 360° JPEG. Platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Google Photos, and many panorama viewers use those tags to decide whether a 2:1 image should open as a spherical photo or as a flat panorama.
Everything runs locally. The file is never uploaded. The tool does not decode or recompress pixels — it only inserts or updates an XMP packet inside the JPEG.
Why 360 Photos Display Flat
A correct equirectangular image is usually twice as wide as it is tall, but aspect ratio alone is not enough. After Photoshop, Lightroom, Insta360 Studio exports, or web compression, the Photo Sphere XMP block is often stripped. The photo still looks like a panorama on disk, yet Facebook renders it as a wide still.
Common causes:
- Missing
GPano:ProjectionType=equirectangular - Missing full-pano and cropped-area pixel sizes
- Optimization or canvas export rebuilt the JPEG without XMP
- GPS remaining in EXIF when you only needed a privacy-safe 360 file
What the Tool Writes
It injects the standard GPano Photo Sphere tags: UsePanoramaViewer, ProjectionType, FullPanoWidthPixels, FullPanoHeightPixels, and CroppedArea* values derived from the JPEG SOF dimensions. If the image is not exactly 2:1, the cropped area is centered inside a 2:1 full sphere. Optional PoseHeadingDegrees sets the initial view yaw.
How to Use It
Drop a JPEG, confirm whether Photo Sphere tags are missing, keep Inject Photo Sphere tags enabled, optionally strip GPS, then download the fixed file. Re-upload that JPEG to Facebook or open it in a 360 panorama viewer to confirm it spins.

PNG and WebP
Facebook, Instagram, and Google Photos only treat a file as a 360 photo when it is JPEG with GPano XMP. PNG and WebP can look like a 2:1 panorama, but those platforms will not spin them.
This tool accepts PNG and WebP anyway: it converts them to JPEG in the browser (quality ~92%), then injects Photo Sphere tags. JPEG uploads skip conversion and stay lossless.
