When creating a virtual tour for your real estate business, it is essential to include a floor plan. This diagram will help potential buyers visualize the property’s layout and make it easier to see how each room flows into the next.

What is a Floor plan?

A floor plan is a diagram of a room or building that shows the layout of the furniture and appliances. It is often used when designing a new home or remodelling an existing one. Floor plans can be as simple or as detailed as you want them to be, and they can include measurements and notes about the furniture and appliances.

The benefit of a Floor plan

Including a floor plan in your virtual tour is vital because it gives potential buyers a better idea of the property’s layout. It can be challenging to visualize how each room flows into the next without a floor plan. With a floor plan, you can easily see which rooms are connected and how big each room is.

Types of Floor plan

There are different types of floor plans that you can use in your virtual tour. The most common type is a simple floor plan, which shows the layout of the furniture and appliances in a room. Another type of Floor plan is a birds-eye view, which gives an aerial view of the property. This type is helpful for showing the layout of the property and how each room is connected.

The last type of Floor plan is a three-dimensional (or “isometric”) floor plan. This type of Floor plan shows the layout of the furniture and appliances in a room and the dimensions of each item. Isometric floor plans help deliver the arrangement of property in more detail.

Few tips for creating the best Floor plan

When creating your Floor plan, keep these tips in mind to make it look realistic. Here are a few examples of good and bad floor plans:

The good Floor plan is well-organized and easy to understand. It shows a clear layout of the property, and each room is labelled.

The bad Floor plan is often confusing and difficult to understand. The rooms are not labelled, and it is unclear how they are all connected. There is also a lot of wasted space.

So summary, there are a few things to keep in mind when designing a floor plan:

  • Use a floor plan template: You can find floor plan templates online or in design software programs like Photoshop. This will help you get started and ensure that your Floor plan is the correct size.
  • Label each room: Be sure to label each room, so viewers know what they are looking at.
  • Add furniture: Add furniture to each room so viewers can get a sense of how the space will be used.
  • Use colour: Use different colours to differentiate between areas. For example, you could use a different colour for each floor or room type.
  • Save as a PDF: Once you have created your Floor plan, save it as a PDF so you can easily share it with potential buyers when available.
