Hotspot Patch (AI Generative)

The Hotspot Patch feature in Panoee lets you remove tripod shadows, fix stitching errors, erase unwanted objects, or even add new details — all powered by AI generative image editing. This step-by-step guide will show you how to use it effectively.

Step 1 – Launch the Hotspot Patch Tool

  1. Open your tour in the Tour Editor.
  2. Select the scene that contains the area you want to fix.
  3. Adjust the view so the unwanted element is visible.
  4. At the bottom toolbar, click the glowing star icon “Create Hotspot Patch”.

👉 Pro tip: Center the problem area on screen before creating the patch. This helps AI generate cleaner results.

Step 2 – Define the Patch Area

Once you click Create Hotspot Patch, the system opens a dialog called Select View. This is where you set the area that the AI will edit.

  1. Choose Aspect Ratio
    • Use the dropdown on the right to select the aspect ratio for your patch (e.g., Square 1:1, Landscape 16:9).
    • The aspect ratio determines the shape of the editable area, so pick the one that best covers the unwanted object.
  2. Rotate & Zoom
    • Adjust the panorama view by rotating or zooming until the area you want to fix is clearly visible in the frame.
    • Try to center the unwanted element (tripod, seam, object, etc.) in the preview window.
  3. Lock the View
    • When you’re satisfied with the framing, click Lock This View.
    • This action “freezes” the patch area so you can move to the next step (adding your AI prompt).

👉 Make the patch slightly larger than the object for smoother blending.

Step 3 – Enter Prompt & Generate AI Patch

After locking the patch view, the system moves to the Enter Prompt step. Here you’ll describe what you want the AI to fix or generate.

  1. Insert Your Prompt → Write what you want AI to fix. Example: “Remove tripod shadow and fill with floor texture.”
  2. Use Quick Templates (optional) → Speed up by choosing pre-defined commands like:
    • Remove Object
    • Fix Seam/Glitch
    • Remove People/Privacy
    • Remove Logo/Tripod
    • Add Decorative Element
  3. Generate Image → Click Generate Image to let the AI process your patch.

👉 Keep prompts short and clear. AI works best with focused instructions.

Step 4 – Review & Apply the Patch

After AI generates your patch, the system opens the Review Result panel. Here you can check the quality of the edit before finalizing.

  1. Preview → Use the comparison slider to check Original vs New Result.
  2. Decide Next Step:
    • Confirm & Apply → Accept the AI result.
    • Regenerate → Try again with a different prompt.
    • Continue Edit → Use the new image as a base for further editing.
    • Reject → Cancel and revert to the original panorama.

👉 If the first attempt isn’t perfect, regenerate with a more specific prompt.

Step 5 – Fine-Tune with Layer Control

After applying the AI patch, you can further adjust and customize it directly inside the Tour Editor.

Once the patch is applied, you can customize it further using Layer Control. Each patch is treated as a separate layer that you can manage individually.

  1. Adjust Patch Size & Position
    • Use the Width (px) / Height (px) settings to precisely resize the patched area.
    • This ensures the patch blends seamlessly with the surrounding panorama.
  2. Add Layers (Optional)
    • Click + Add Layer to stack additional edits or decorative elements.
    • Multiple layers allow you to refine the same area (e.g., remove object → then enhance detail → then add decoration).
  3. Layer Control Functions
    • 👁 Eye Icon → Toggle visibility of the layer (on/off).
    • ✏️ Edit Icon → Re-open the patch creation dialog and adjust with a new prompt.
    • 📑 Duplicate → Clone the layer for variations or backup.
    • ⬆ / ⬇ Arrows → Reorder the layer stack (which patch sits above/below others).
    • ⤴ Upload → Replace the layer with another generated image or manually upload one.
    • ⬇ Download → Save the current patch image locally.
    • 🗑 Delete → Remove the layer permanently.

👉 Pro tip: Keep different edits in separate layers (e.g., tripod removal vs. wall fix). This gives you maximum flexibility to preview and toggle changes.

Final Thoughts

The Hotspot Patch feature makes your virtual tours flawless without costly reshoots. Whether it’s removing distractions, fixing seams, or enhancing visuals, AI generative editing gives you full control — fast, simple, and flexible.

With layer controls, you can experiment with multiple edits, toggle them on and off, reorder priorities, or even upload your own custom patches. It’s like having a mini Photoshop directly inside your virtual tour editor.
